About us…
Charlie Baker
Qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2008, Charlie has a broad experience, having worked; in the NHS, private practice and for six years at Sheffield Wednesday FC (Academy and First Team).
As someone who trains hard and works hard himself he believes success with athletes is about finding the core problem and making a straight forward plan to solve it.
.
Peak Condition Physiotherapy is a Physiotherapy Clinic with practices in Exeter and Bakewell. The first practice was set up by Charlie Baker at SUMMAT Cafe in Bakewell. When Charlie moved to Exeter, Jen Newbery stepped in to fill the void.
Peak Condition Physiotherapy
Jen Newbery
Jen has been working as a physio for 11 years with experience in the NHS and private sector. As well as competing at a high level, Jen has also worked in sports (rugby and football) seeing it all from recreational to professional. This means that Jen knows the demands that sports require but also understands what is realistic to expect of people who are shorter on time! Jen has worked in a variety of clinical areas specialising in neurological physiotherapy in the NHS for 8 years. Jen utilises this knowledge and experience to provide a holistic approach to all aspects of the assessment and treatment process.
For a number of years Jen combined her profession as a physiotherapist with competing as an elite triathlete. She represented Great Britain and the Isle of Man on the world stage, as well as racing in professional leagues across Europe. From this experience Jen has gained a deeper understanding into the high demand sport takes on the body, and issues athletes can face with injury. Jen also has a background in Strength and Conditioning which she draws upon when prescribing rehabilitation programmes.
Charlie thinks that Jen gives an excellent pep talk! So if you need one before an event, just come and find her at SUMMAT Cafe, Bakewell.
A personal note
Running and Sport has taken me to some brilliant places in my life and given me some amazing experiences. I am grateful to my legs for the distances they have travelled but this has also come with the occasional injury. I know what it means to love your sport and enjoy an active lifestyle. If this is something that you feel you are needing a helping hand with then don’t hesitate to book in or contact me (phone or email).
All the best
Charlie
